RASHOMON
A Fundraiser for CATS’ Upcoming Stage Production

In collaboration with CATS, The Onyx Downtown at the Nevada Theatre will present Akira Kurosawa’s 1950 classic RASHOMON as a special prelude and fundraiser for CATS’ upcoming stage production.

Wednesday, March 18 • 7:00 PM
Nevada Theatre

Starring Toshirô Mifune, Machiko Kyô, Masayuki Mori, and Takashi Shimura, RASHOMON is a landmark film exploring truth, perspective, and the shifting nature of storytelling — themes that continue to resonate in CATS’ theatrical adaptation.

The evening begins at 6:00 PM with a “Bento Box Dinner and Movie” experience. Kaliko’s Hawaiian Kitchen food truck will be parked in front of the Nevada Theatre with bento boxes available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring their dinner inside to enjoy during the film. Onyx concessions will also be available.

Before the screening, cast members from CATS’ production will present a live demonstration of Japanese sword fighting, offering a preview of the staging and physicality of the upcoming play. Following the film, director Sonny Alforque will speak briefly about the differences between Kurosawa’s film and CATS’ stage interpretation.
